Psychotherapy offers the possibility for an individual to explore various aspects of their life in a way that is rarely possible with family or friends. My approach to therapy is led by the conviction that no two people are the same. Based on this belief, therapy offers a space where you can speak about your suffering and presents the opportunity to re-shape it. Therapy can be a truly transformative experience which can help you assess, explore and reflect on your psychological distress in a confidential way.
I am currently studying Specific Modality Training in St. Vincent’s Hospital, the School of Psychotherapy. I am a psychology graduate and hold a Master’s degree in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from DBS. I am a fully qualified Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. I work with the code of ethics in conformity with APPI which are under the umbrella of PCI.
My clinical experience during the last number of years spans across a large number of settings including the National Maternity Hospital, The Dolphin Homework Club and two addiction treatment centres in the Tower Programme and in the Saol Project. I attended psychiatric case-conferences in St. Vincent’s Hospital for two years where practitioners from the psychiatric profession present and discuss their clinical cases. I also conducted a weekly, two-year infant observation which provided the opportunity to develop an understanding of language acquisition through direct observation of an infant during early life.
I have experience with a wide range of symptopms that include
but are not limited to:
Suicial-ideation
Loneliness
Panic Attacks
Anxiety
Depression
Stress
Self-harm
Bereavement and Loss
Addiction
Eating Disorders
